BidAssist vs TrackTender: pricing, features and coverage

A fact-checked BidAssist vs TrackTender comparison for Indian suppliers: what each does well, real pricing, and how to pick the right tender alert tool.

The short version: BidAssist is a searchable tender app — free search, deep GeM data, paid downloads — while TrackTender pushes AI-parsed tenders to your Telegram or WhatsApp for a flat fee. Which one fits depends on whether your problem is searching a big pool or remembering to check at all.

A supplier asked me last month whether he should pay for TrackTender when he already had BidAssist on his phone. Fair question — and he deserved an honest answer, not a sales one. The two tools overlap, but they’re built around different ideas of how a tender should reach you and what you do once it does. So let me lay both out plainly, give BidAssist its full due, and show you where TrackTender is genuinely different.

I built TrackTender, so read me as an interested party. But a comparison that hides a competitor’s real strengths is useless to you anyway. BidAssist is a strong product, and I’ll say so where it earns it.

What BidAssist does well

BidAssist, by OFBusiness, positions itself as “India’s #1 App for Government Tenders” and reports more than 900,000 users. That’s not a small claim, and it’s not an empty one. A lot of suppliers find their first tenders through it, and for good reason.

Free search and strong GeM coverage

Its search is free forever. You can open the app or the website and filter tenders by authority, location, amount and dates without paying anything on day one. That low barrier matters more than people admit, especially for an SME that has never touched a tender platform. Document downloads are gated and subscriptions come with a three-day free trial, but the browsing itself stays open.

Its GeM coverage is strong too. If most of your relevant bids land on the Government e-Marketplace, you get a serious, well-organised view of them. And the data depth is real: tender results with bidder and contract data, BOQ data, Excel and PDF export, and team sharing so a procurement desk can work together. On the AI side, BidAssist offers recommendations and AI insight summaries — eligibility, key dates, risk factors — right inside the app. That’s a capable feature set, not a thin one.

Multi-channel alerts and pricing

It also reaches you in more than one way: alerts over SMS, email and WhatsApp, with Android and iOS apps plus the web. So it’s not only a place you go. It can push to you as well.

On price, plans start from ₹3,000 a year, GeM and bid advisory from ₹499, and there’s a pay-per-download option at ₹299 per tender. Check the current details at bidassist.com before you decide — a competitor’s specifics change, and I’d rather you saw them yourself than took any blog’s word, including mine.

That’s the honest case: popular, capable, strong on GeM, free to search, with real AI summaries in a powerful searchable app. If that fits how you want to work, it’s a genuinely good choice.

Where TrackTender is built differently

TrackTender starts from a different question. Not “where can I go to browse tenders” but “how does a relevant tender reach me where I already am, already parsed, before the deadline pressure starts”. That difference shapes everything else, and it’s worth being precise about, because some of what BidAssist does overlaps with us.

Delivery: chat-first, on Telegram and WhatsApp

Both tools can reach you outside a dashboard. BidAssist offers WhatsApp, SMS and email alerts. TrackTender delivers on Telegram and WhatsApp. The honest channel difference is Telegram: from our research, BidAssist offers WhatsApp but not Telegram, so if Telegram is where you live, that’s a real distinction.

The bigger difference is the workflow around the channel. TrackTender is chat-first by design. No dashboard to remember to open, no download gating between you and the document. The matching tender, with its document, lands in the same chat app you already check a hundred times a day. The finding stops depending on you remembering anything — which matters more than it sounds, because tenders get missed faster than most suppliers realise.

AI: structured fields pushed to you, not summaries in a dashboard

Here I want to be careful, because it’s easy to overstate. BidAssist has AI. Its insight summaries cover eligibility, key dates and risk factors, surfaced inside the app and dashboard. That’s a legitimate, useful feature.

TrackTender does something adjacent but different in shape. Rather than a summary you read inside an app, it extracts specific structured fields from the bid PDF — the EMD, the ePBG, the deadline, the quantity, and the products it matched against your profile — and pushes those fields into your chat. We call them the golden parameters. The point isn’t “AI versus no AI”; both have AI. The point is where the intelligence lands and in what form: a summary you open, versus structured values delivered to you. Both are valid. Pick the one that matches how you make a bid-or-skip decision.

Geo-matching by state and category, down to the city

A bid in a state you can’t deliver to is noise. TrackTender matches on your state plus your category and narrows to city and PIN where the document defines it. A Surat electrical supplier hears about Surat and Gujarat electrical bids, not the whole country. The goal is fewer, sharper alerts you actually trust — instead of a firehose you eventually mute.

Government first, and private tenders too

Government tenders are the primary focus, because that’s where most of this demand lives. But TrackTender also covers private tenders, so relevant opportunities outside the government portals reach the same Telegram and WhatsApp stream. If you want the fuller picture of where these bids originate, I mapped it in where tenders come from.

The honest comparison

Here’s how I’d line the two up. Confirm the BidAssist column at bidassist.com yourself, since their details are theirs to change.

Both keep the entry barrier low and both can push alerts. The differences are in shape: TrackTender charges a flat monthly fee that includes the matched alerts themselves from day one, rather than free search with gated downloads. No per-download charges, no annual lock-in. Neither model is wrong. They suit different buying habits.

TrackTender pricing, stated plainly

I’ll give you our own numbers, since those I can state with confidence.

  • Starter, ₹30 for the first month (about ₹1 a day), then ₹300 a month, or ₹255 a month billed yearly. Three states and three categories, with alerts on Telegram and the parsed bid documents attached. Built so you can judge the matches on real tenders for the price of a chai before committing to a full month.
  • Pro, rolling out next: more states and categories, plus WhatsApp and email alerts, matched products and deadline reminders. Start on Starter now and you can upgrade in place when it lands.
  • Enterprise, for agencies and large suppliers who need unlimited coverage, team seats and API access. Priced on request.

I’m not going to claim TrackTender is the cheapest tool out there. I haven’t audited every competitor’s full pricing, and that kind of absolute claim is usually a lie. What I will say: you can start for ₹30, see the real matches for your business, and decide within the first month whether it’s earning its place.

How to actually choose

Strip away the brand names and it comes down to your workflow.

If you’re a high-volume contractor who wants a powerful searchable app — deep GeM coverage, tender results and bidder data, BOQ details, AI summaries you read inside a dashboard — BidAssist is a strong, popular choice and you should try it. Genuinely. The free search and the data depth alone make it worth your time, and many suppliers will be served fully by it.

If your real problem is that you keep missing tenders because you forget to check, if you want the bid pushed to your chat with the EMD and deadline already extracted, if Telegram is your channel, and if you need it filtered tightly to your state and category with no download gating in the way — that’s the exact problem TrackTender was built to solve. As I wrote in what SMEs get wrong about finding tenders, the most common way to lose a tender is never seeing it in time, and a chat-first, pre-parsed alert is a direct answer to that.

Plenty of suppliers will win with a powerful app they search. Some will win more by never having to search at all. Be honest about which one you are, and pick the tool that matches your workflow. (If you’re weighing other options too, I’ve compared the main tender alert services in India the same way.)
