Tender Tiger vs TrackTender: pricing, features, coverage

Once a business accepts that watching portals by hand doesn’t scale, the next question is which service to actually pay for — and in India, one name comes up before any other: Tender Tiger. So let me do the honest thing and compare it with what I built, TrackTender, without the usual sleight of hand where the founder pretends his product wins on every line. It doesn’t. They’re different tools for different businesses, and the useful question is which one fits yours.

I’ll start by saying plainly what Tender Tiger does well — because it does several things well — and then draw the line where TrackTender is the better choice.

What Tender Tiger is genuinely good at

Tender Tiger, run by e-Procurement Technologies Ltd out of Ahmedabad, has been operating since 2006. That matters. Two decades of aggregating tenders into one place builds a depth a newer entrant simply can’t fake.

Their coverage is broad: global and Indian, government and private, pulled into one of the larger databases in the market. If your need is “I want to search a vast live and historical archive of tenders from a single web portal”, that’s genuinely their home ground. For research — studying which departments float which kinds of work, going back through past tenders — a deep searchable archive is valuable, and an aggregator that has run since 2006 has had time to build one.

They’re also part of a larger set of procurement products from e-Procurement Technologies. For a large enterprise or PSU that wants more than alerts, a vendor with a fuller stack around the bidding process is a sensible single relationship to maintain. That’s a real business serving a real customer, and I respect it.

On pricing, the only figure I’ll state is the one they publish: plans starting at ₹2,400 a year. Their fuller tiers are quote-gated, so the rest depends on your category and states. Where TrackTender is different

I didn’t build TrackTender to out-database a twenty-year incumbent. Trying to win on archive size against e-Procurement Technologies would be foolish. I built it because I kept watching capable SMEs lose tenders on a narrower, sharper problem: speed and signal. They didn’t need a vast portal to log into. They needed the two or three tenders that were actually for them to land in their pocket, already read.

So TrackTender is built around a different idea. Instead of being a destination you visit, it’s a stream that comes to you.

Alerts land on Telegram and WhatsApp, not behind a login

This is the cleanest, most factual difference between the two services. Tender Tiger delivers alerts by email, SMS, web access and its mobile apps. No dashboard to remember to open. No login that becomes a chore on a busy week. A message that arrives on the app you already check forty times a day doesn’t have that failure mode. And with tender windows as short as they are, speed is the whole game.

The AI has already read the bid document

Every tender that matches you, TrackTender’s AI has already opened and read. It pulls out the EMD, the ePBG, the deadline, the quantity, and the specific products it matched against your profile, and puts them in the alert itself. The delivery location in an Indian tender usually lives inside the consignee address in the document, not in a clean filterable field. TrackTender matches by state and category, then down to city and PIN, the way the bid actually defines it. TrackTender’s Starter plan is ₹30 for the first month — about ₹1 a day — then a flat ₹300 a month, or ₹255 a month billed yearly. Three states, three categories, alerts on Telegram with the bid documents attached. It’s a flat monthly price published upfront rather than a quote you have to request. A Pro plan with more states plus WhatsApp and email alerts is rolling out next.

I’m not going to claim we’re the cheapest option in the market, because a flat monthly fee and an annual plan aren’t the same shape to begin with. What I will say plainly: the ₹30 first month lets you see whether the alerts are actually relevant before committing to a full month.

So which should you choose?

Let me make it concrete, because that’s what actually helps.

Choose Tender Tiger if you have the team to work a portal

If you’re a larger enterprise, a PSU, or a serious contractor who wants a deep, established database to research across, broad global and Indian coverage, and a vendor whose wider procurement suite you can grow into — they’re a strong, long-standing choice, and I’d tell you so to your face. Archive depth and a fuller product stack are real things, and they have them.

Choose TrackTender if your problem is timing, not archive depth

If you’re an SME who doesn’t want another login to babysit — who’d rather have the right two or three tenders arrive on Telegram or WhatsApp already read, with the EMD, ePBG and deadline pulled out, matched to your exact state, category and city — that’s the problem I built this to solve. The channel difference is the simplest way to see it: the alert reaches you where you already are, with no portal to open.

There’s no shame in the answer being “both for now”. Some businesses use a deep portal for research and a fast alert service so they never miss a live bid. The two aren’t mutually exclusive, and pretending otherwise wouldn’t be honest.
